Navi Mumbai Crime Branch Arrests Three in Kalamboli Break-In, Recovers Rs 36 Lakh Jewellery Within 24 Hours

Police used technical surveillance to trace the suspects to Daighar village within 24 hours of the Kalamboli break-in.

Overview

  • The burglary occurred on March 9 between about 4:30 pm and 6 pm at the locked flat of Ruby Santosh Patro in Prithvi Building, Kalamboli, with gold, silver and cash worth around Rs 36 lakh stolen.
  • Crime Branch Unit-2 set a trap on March 10 in Daighar village, Thane district, based on technical surveillance and confidential inputs.
  • The detained suspects were identified as Pawan (Pavan) Rohidas Jadhav, 25, Sumit Rohidas Jadhav, 22, and Shivaji Jagan Rathod, 23, who were later formally arrested.
  • Police recovered roughly 30 tolas of stolen jewellery from the trio, and officials said the accused confessed during interrogation.
  • A theft and house break-in case was registered at Kalamboli police station, and the operation was led by Senior PI Anil Patil under ACP Prerna Katte, with the accused in custody pending further legal proceedings.
