Nationwide Trials Dementia Clinics in 12 Virgin Money Branches

The pilot tests a High Street route to faster specialist help during long NHS waits.

Overview

  • Nationwide will run a trial in 12 Virgin Money branches, starting in May in Northern England and in July in Scotland.
  • Each appointment lasts 45 minutes, is free, and takes place in a private room open to anyone, not just customers.
  • Clinics are staffed by Dementia UK’s Admiral Nurses who give tailored health, care and money advice to people affected by dementia and their carers.
  • The pilot expands access toward roughly 250 branch locations across the UK, building on Nationwide’s existing clinic programme.
  • Nationwide says any wider rollout to more of Virgin Money’s 91 branches will follow a review of demand from the trial.
