Overview
- Nationwide will automatically credit around 4.4 million eligible members with £100 into open Nationwide current accounts between 10 June and 30 June 2026, with no application needed.
- To qualify, members needed a qualifying Nationwide current account plus either at least £100 in Nationwide savings or at least £100 outstanding on a Nationwide residential mortgage on 31 March 2026.
- Current accounts migrated from Clydesdale, including Virgin Money current accounts, do not qualify for the 2026 payment but Nationwide says transferred Virgin Money accounts could be considered for Fairer Share in 2027.
- Nationwide says it began notifying eligible members from 21 May and offers an online and in-app eligibility checker, though some customers have reported not receiving a notice or awaiting the credit.
- This is the fourth consecutive £100 Fairer Share payout — about £440 million this year and roughly £1.5 billion since 2023 — and Nationwide has also launched a 5% member bond and a £175 switching incentive while stressing future payments depend on results and board approval.
