National Weather Service Issues Morning Fog Advisories for NYC and Much of New Jersey Until 10 A.M.

Drivers should expect visibility under one mile with pockets below a quarter mile.

  • The National Weather Service, which issued its first alert at 5:11 a.m. Sunday, set a dense fog advisory through 10 a.m. for Manhattan, the Bronx, Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, Westchester, Nassau, and Suffolk.
  • A separate alert at 6:44 a.m. expanded fog advisories in New Jersey through 10 a.m. for 13 counties: Sussex, Warren, Morris, Hunterdon, Somerset, Middlesex, Monmouth, Mercer, Salem, Gloucester, Camden, Burlington, and Ocean.
  • An earlier 5:11 a.m. report also covered four North Jersey counties, warning drivers in Hudson, Bergen, Essex, and Union.
