Overview
- The exhibition will visit eight museums from March 6 to August 16, starting in Kansas City and continuing through Atlanta, Los Angeles, Houston, Denver, Miami, Dearborn and Seattle.
- Boeing is providing a 737 in Freedom Plane livery and operational support, with tightly scheduled movements, climate-controlled transfers and police-escorted arrivals handled by National Archives staff.
- Items traveling together for the first time include an 1823 engraved copy of the Declaration of Independence, the 1774 Articles of Association, Oaths of Allegiance signed by Washington, Hamilton and Burr, the 1783 Treaty of Paris, a rare 1787 draft printing of the Constitution and the Convention’s vote tally.
- The original Declaration, Constitution and Bill of Rights will remain on display in Washington, D.C., as the tour presents selected founding-era records chosen for public access outside the capital.
- Admission is free at all eight venues with advance tickets required from host museums, and support comes via the National Archives Foundation and sponsors including Boeing, Comcast, Microsoft and Procter & Gamble.
