- RIVM activated the Nationaal Hitteplan after KNMI forecasts on Thursday showed several very warm days, and KNMI issued code geel for heat and humid conditions.
- Friday is forecast to be the warmest day, with local highs around 34–35°C and KNMI hittekracht values of roughly 7–9 that indicate strong heat stress combined with humidity, sun and low wind.
- Forecasters also warn of an increased chance of intense afternoon and evening thunderstorms that can bring hail, heavy rain and damaging gusts, creating a coupled hazard alongside the heat.
- Organisers, companies and municipalities have activated heat protocols by cancelling or adapting events, moving work hours earlier, opening extra cooling points and adding water and shade for staff and visitors.
- Public-health advice stresses checking on people aged 75+, the chronically ill, young children and the homeless, drinking regularly, reviewing medications that affect hydration and avoiding heavy exertion during the hottest hours.
