- NASCAR announced the Class of 2027 nominees Sunday before the Martinsville Cup race, naming 15 Hall of Fame candidates and five Landmark Award finalists with Kevin Harvick on the Modern Era ballot in his first year of eligibility.
- The Modern Era ballot features Greg Biffle, Neil Bonnett, Tim Brewer, Jeff Burton, Randy Dorton, Ray Elder, Ernie Elliott, Randy LaJoie and Jack Sprague alongside Harvick.
- The Pioneer ballot names Ray Fox, Harry Hyde, Banjo Matthews, Herb Nab and Larry Phillips, and the Landmark Award finalists are Alvin Hawkins, Lesa France Kennedy, Dr. Joseph Mattioli, Les Richter and T. Wayne Robertson.
