NASA Targets Feb. 11 for Crew-12 ISS Launch After Early Crew Return

Range coordination with Artemis 2 could still move the target date.

Overview

  • NASA’s earliest Crew-12 launch opportunity is 6:00 a.m. EST on Feb. 11 from Cape Canaveral’s pad 40, with backup windows at 5:38 a.m. Feb. 12 and 5:15 a.m. Feb. 13.
  • The launch was advanced from Feb. 15 after Crew-11 returned early due to a crewmember’s medical issue, described as an unprecedented evacuation.
  • Artemis 2’s final SLS test was delayed by bad weather, shifting its earliest window to Feb. 8 and potentially forcing further adjustments to Crew-12.
  • Crew-12 will fly Sophie Adenot of ESA on her first space mission with Americans Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway and Russian cosmonaut Andrei Fedyaev.
  • The four are expected to spend about eight months on the ISS conducting research and maintenance, with spacewalks possible according to mission plans.
