Naidu to Lay Foundation for AM/NS India’s 17.8 MTPA Steel Plant in Andhra Pradesh on March 23

Backers cast the greenfield complex as a jobs engine for the Visakhapatnam region.

Overview

  • The ceremony at Rajayyapeta in Nakkapalli mandal will feature Union Steel Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy and industry leaders Lakshmi Mittal and Aditya Mittal alongside the Chief Minister.
  • The integrated plant is planned over roughly 5,400–5,465 acres in two stages, starting with 7.3 MTPA and rising to 10.5 MTPA in the second phase.
  • Reported investment totals range from about ₹1.36 lakh crore to nearly ₹1.5 lakh crore, with about ₹70,000 crore slated for the first phase.
