Naidu Defends Going Public on Tirupati Laddu Adulteration as YSRCP Challenges TTD Ghee Deal

He told the Assembly that linking the row to Heritage Foods is an attempt to tarnish his family’s name.

Overview

  • Addressing lawmakers, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said withholding the laddu adulteration findings would have been sacrilege and insisted the government has acted to protect temple sanctity.
  • YSRCP leader Bhumana Karunakar Reddy accused Naidu of doublespeak, citing past TTD ghee supplies from Indapur Dairy, a Heritage Foods unit, at Rs 278–306 per kg during 2014–2019.
  • Reddy said Indapur supplied 16.50 lakh kg at Rs 306 per kg in 2015 and questioned how the same unit won a December 2025 contract at Rs 658 per kg.
  • He also questioned whether bidding under the name Indapur Dairy was used to mask the Heritage Foods connection and asked for clarity on pricing and tender terms.
  • A CBI charge sheet referenced in the dispute notes over 40 lakh kg of ghee were supplied by two units during Naidu’s earlier term, a point the YSRCP is using to press for answers.
