Naidu Breaks Ground on Cognizant Campus in Visakhapatnam as Eight More IT Offices Launch

The push is presented to create tens of thousands of jobs to anchor development of the Visakha Economic Region.

Overview

  • Cognizant’s Visakhapatnam project involves a Rs 1,583-crore, 22-acre campus at Kapuluppada IT Hills with plans for 8,000 jobs in three phases.
  • IT Minister Nara Lokesh inaugurated a temporary Cognizant site at the Mahati Fintech Building in Rushikonda IT Park with capacity for about 1,000 staff.
  • Operations at the temporary facility are slated to begin by early 2026 with initial staffing of around 800, with Phase I of the permanent campus targeted for early 2029.
  • Foundation stones were also laid for offices of Tech Thammina, Satva Developers, Imaginnovate Tech Solutions India, Fluentgrid, Motherson Technologies, Qorp Technosoft, ACN Healthcare RCM Services, and Nanrel Technologies.
  • State figures project a combined investment of roughly Rs 3,740 crore and about 41,700 jobs, with a subsequent review planned on integrated roads, rail, port and logistics development across nine districts.
