Nagaland Signs MoA to Deploy Drones in Public Health

Officials say drone routes can connect remote health facilities across mountainous districts.

The agreement was signed Thursday in Kohima by the Nagaland GIS and Remote Sensing Centre and the Department of Health & Family Welfare.
NGISRSC will manage drone operations, capacity building, data analysis, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
The Health & Family Welfare Department will handle logistics, coordination, and deployment planning for services.
Planned uses include emergency medical deliveries, outbreak and disaster response, vector control, and geospatial mapping to guide decisions.
Leaders cited gains in efficiency and preparedness, while no timeline for pilot flights or full rollout was announced.
