Murder Probe Opened After Bradford Man Dies From Head Wound

Police have launched a major homicide inquiry and are hunting a wanted suspect while appealing for public information.

  • A man was shot in the head at the Gaythorne Road and Parsonage Road junction in West Bowling on Wednesday July 8 and was taken to hospital.
  • The victim, 28-year-old Mohammed Hasan, died on Sunday July 19 and West Yorkshire Police upgraded the case to a murder investigation.
  • Nine people have been arrested in the inquiry, four on suspicion of attempted murder and five on suspicion of assisting an offender, with 21-year-old Hasnain Akhter charged and remanded.
  • Officers have launched a manhunt for 24-year-old Luqman Khan, who is wanted for questioning and is believed to have travelled to the Ipswich or Felixstowe areas of Suffolk.
  • Detectives say the fatal shot is thought to have been fired from a BMW and they are urging witnesses to contact HMET on 101 with reference 13260388729 or report anonymously to Crimestoppers.
