Overview
- Police were called at around 09:00 on Friday, June 5, after reports of a stabbing on Pankhurst Avenue and found a 35-year-old man with stab wounds who was later pronounced dead at hospital.
- Another man in his 20s was taken to hospital with multiple stab wounds and his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.
- Two men, aged 27 and 24, and a 25-year-old woman were arrested near the scene on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody.
- Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command, led by DCI Joanna Yorke, are leading the investigation and have asked anyone with CCTV or information to contact police via 101 quoting CAD 1868/5JUN or Crimestoppers.
- There is a large police presence in Silvertown, specialist officers are supporting the victim’s next-of-kin, and enquiries are continuing at pace as detectives appeal to the local community for help.
