Munich Raid Nets Three Suspects, Cocaine and Luxury Assets in Major Drug Probe

Prosecutors have opened an extensive probe into the network’s supply routes.

Overview

  • Special units from the joint GER task force, Munich customs and the Bavarian LKA executed coordinated searches last week, arresting two alleged dealers and a suspected courier, with all three now in pre-trial custody.
  • Border police on the A8 near Neukirchen/Teisendorf found 270 grams of cocaine in the courier’s car, and a judge issued a remand order the next day on flight-risk grounds at the request of the Traunstein prosecutor.
  • Searches of four Munich homes and a business in Fürstenfeldbruck yielded another roughly 200 grams of cocaine, €7,000 in cash, a Mercedes sports car valued around €100,000 and luxury watches worth over €80,000.
  • Authorities accuse the pair of trafficking more than 300 kilograms of marijuana, 50 kilograms of hashish and 29 kilograms of cocaine, as well as about 1,000 illicit THC e‑cigarettes.
  • The investigation is being led by Staatsanwaltschaft München I, and Süddeutsche Zeitung reports supply lines included purchases in Hesse plus shipments from Switzerland and by post from Spain, with no evidence so far of membership in a major cartel.
