Munich Launches Paid New Year’s ‘Silvestermeile’ With Laser Show to Replace Fireworks

Presales open October 16 at €33 for 48 hours before €40, reflecting a city push to cut noise and fine dust.

Overview

  • Munich’s Stadtrat-approved street event will run December 31 from 19:00 to 02:00 on Ludwigstraße between Siegestor and Von-der-Tann-Straße.
  • Tickets are sold via Fever and München Ticket with an early-bird price of €33 for 48 hours starting October 16, then €40, with family passes planned.
  • Four stages will feature live bands and DJs including Moop Mama, Gerry & Gary, Loisach Marci and DJ Mitja Lafere, alongside curated light art by Matthias Singer.
  • A coordinated light, video and laser show shortly before midnight is billed as the official alternative to individual fireworks, which remain banned in central zones and within the Mittlerer Ring.
  • Organizer Gral GmbH will allocate 400 free tickets, largely via Kulturraum München, as officials promote the lower-emission, lower-noise format as kinder to air quality and animals.
