Mumbai Rail Weekend Blocks Set on Central and Western Lines for Upgrade Works

The outages advance third-line expansion, platform extensions for 15-coach trains, Metro Line-6 girder launches.

Overview

  • Central Railway’s 15-hour block between Umbermali and Atgaon begins Saturday at noon and runs until 3 am Sunday, halting suburban trains between Asangaon and Kasara and triggering diversions, short-terminations and a few cancellations for long-distance services.
  • Yard remodelling at Khardi tied to the KalyanKasara third line drives this shutdown, with officials warning of 25 to 30 minute delays as trains queue through the constrained section.
  • Harbour Line services between CSMT and Bandra or Chunabhatti pause Sunday from about 11:00 am to 4:45 pm, with special PanvelKurla locals every 20 minutes and permission to use Main Line and Western Railway between 10 am and 6 pm.
  • Western Railway imposes a near 10-hour night block between Ram Mandir and Jogeshwari from 10:15 pm Saturday to 8:15 am Sunday for Metro Line-6 steel girders, plus a full stoppage across lines from 1:45 am to 4:45 am and separate Dahisar works for footbridge girders.
  • Following Friday’s 2:10 to 3:25 am TitwalaVasind block for overhead equipment adjustments and new point installation to support 15-coach platforms, railways urged passengers to check revised timings and use alternate routes where allowed.
