Overview
- Twenty-seven cooking-gas cylinders were taken from a delivery tempo parked near Kaka Keni Chowk in Charkop during the night of March 25–26, according to the complaint.
- After reviewing local CCTV, investigators identified the suspect vehicle, traced its registration to Nalasopara, and arrested 32-year-old Manoj Surendra Sharma.
- Police recovered the delivery tempo and 12 of the 27 cylinders, and said the seized property is valued at about ₹6.06 lakh.
- Officers reported that Sharma confessed during questioning, and the team is searching for possible accomplices and the remaining cylinders.
- Investigators describe Sharma as a repeat offender with more than 60 prior cases, highlighting how street-parked delivery vehicles can be easy targets for cylinder theft and illegal resale.
