Mumbai Plans 44-Hour Water Disruption Jan. 20–22 Across Five Wards

The final joining of the diverted 2,400-mm Upper Vaitarna main for Metro Line 7A necessitates phased valve operations.

Overview

  • The BMC will conduct the cross-connection from 9 am on January 20 to 5 am on January 22.
  • Supply will be reduced or shut in parts of G North, K East, S, H East and N wards with revised distribution windows.
  • K East faces the most extensive cuts, with complete shutdowns in Andheri East areas including Marol, Chakala, MIDC, Sahar, SEEPZ and airport-adjacent pockets.
  • G North zones will receive low-pressure supply during morning and evening hours, H East’s BKC and Motilal Nagar will get late‑night low pressure, S ward will see mixed low‑pressure and shutdowns, and N ward will have low pressure in areas such as Godrej Compound, R City Mall and Kailash Complex.
  • Residents have been advised to store water in advance, use it judiciously, and boil or filter drinking water during and immediately after the work.
