Mumbai Imposes Dadar Traffic Curbs for Ambedkar Jayanti Drone Show

The plan channels vehicles away from Shivaji Park to manage large crowds during the evening peak.

Overview

  • Mumbai Traffic Police announced temporary closures and diversions in Dadar from 5 pm to 10 pm for a drone show at Shivaji Park, citing an order from the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters and Central).
  • Keluskar Road South and Keluskar Road North will be shut to regular traffic, with entry limited to invitees and authorised vehicles.
  • S K Bole Road will run one-way from Siddhivinayak Junction to Portuguese Church Junction, with entry toward Swatantryaveer Savarkar Road near the Yes Bank junction blocked.
  • Drivers heading toward the western suburbs are advised to use S K Bole Road via Gokhale Road, Gadkari Junction, L J Road and Raja Bade Chowk, while those bound for South Mumbai from Yes Bank Junction should divert via Pandurang Naik Road, Raja Bade Chowk, L J Road and Gadkari Junction.
  • Authorities expect a large turnout and urge people to avoid non-essential travel near Shivaji Park, as organisers say more than 2,000 drones will stage a visual tribute to Dr B. R. Ambedkar from around 6:30 pm.
