Overview
- A cluster of separate crashes between July 5 and July 7 in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh left scores dead or critically injured in collisions involving buses, trucks, trailers, an SUV and a train.
- Near Peddakaparthi (Nalgonda) a private travels bus rear‑ended a car early on July 5 killing four people from the same party while the bus driver is reported to have fled and police have registered an FIR.
- In Eluru district on the night of July 5 at least four people were crushed by the Cherlapalli–Shalimar special train, the Government Railway Police opened a case, recovered personal items to help identify the victims and are probing whether the deaths were intentional.
- On July 7 separate high‑speed road crashes killed three children and a father on Jaipur’s 200‑Feet Bypass when a trailer/trolley breached a barrier and struck a family, and five people died when a speeding SUV hit a truck in Maihar; witnesses and police say drivers fled or vehicles were unidentified in several incidents.
- Rescue teams used extrication tools, bodies were moved for post‑mortems and hospitals treated the injured while investigators point to recurring causes—overspeeding, sudden braking or wrong‑side movement and possible driver fatigue—and searches for fleeing drivers and operator records are continuing.
