M&S and Waitrose Top Which? Instant Gold-Roast Test Over Nescafé and Douwe Egberts

A blind panel of 68 testers compared 12 instant coffees, with Aldi recognised for standout value.

  • Aldi received a Which? Great Value award at £2.65 for 200g, far cheaper than similarly scored rivals.
  • M&S was priced at £7.25 for 200g and was marked a Best Buy, while Waitrose’s 100g jar was listed at £3.70.
  • Other own-brand options ranged from 61% to 67%, including Co-op (67%), Sainsbury’s and Morrisons (65%), Asda and Ocado (64%), and Lidl (61%).
