- Firefox 115 is the final build for Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 and is maintained on the Extended Support Release channel.
- That ESR version will get only essential security patches through the end of February 2026.
- After the cutoff, Firefox on those legacy Windows versions will no longer receive security or feature updates.
- Mozilla says unsupported operating systems have known vulnerabilities and that continuing support is costly and risky.
- Firefox will continue to support Windows 10, and Mozilla highlights Linux as a viable alternative as many distributions ship Firefox by default.
