Movie Park Germany Opens Paramount Walkthrough ‘Journey to the Forbidden Chamber’

The studio-style walkthrough deepens the park’s film focus by turning visitors into on-set extras.

Overview

  • The new attraction opened to the public Thursday in Bottrop after a limited preview and fan video the day before.
  • Guests move through a series of film sets with on-screen direction from cast members and then perform in a two-and-a-half-minute scene with a moving stage, effects and CGI.
  • The story was developed by Paramount’s creative team with Movie Park, with a preshow that sets up a casting in Studio 16 led by the director character Emma Hoffman.
  • The installation replaces the former Lost Temple ride at the park entrance, which now features a Paramount archway marking the new gateway.
  • Movie Park built the experience with Panasonic, Simworks and IMAmotion using 2D projection for easier access and original props and costumes sourced from Los Angeles, following more than 18 months of planning for a 2,500‑square‑meter venue tied to the park’s 30th anniversary season.
