MoUs With NBCC and HUDCO Unlock ₹11,300 Crore for 'New Nagpur' IBFC

NBCC will manage the first 1,000 acres as HUDCO financing speeds land purchases and infrastructure under a 15-year phased plan.

  • Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority signed agreements with NBCC (India) Ltd. and HUDCO in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
  • NBCC has been appointed project management and advisory agency to begin development on 1,000 of the 1,710 acres, with 710 acres reserved for future expansion.
  • HUDCO’s ₹11,300 crore package includes ₹6,500 crore for New Nagpur land acquisition and infrastructure and ₹4,800 crore for land needed for the Nagpur Outer Ring Road.
  • The project will roll out in three phases over 15 years, with an empowered committee chaired by the NMRDA Commissioner overseeing implementation.
  • The IBFC is planned on a plug-and-play model featuring integrated utility tunnels, district cooling and automated waste systems, with HUDCO’s support reported to span five years.
