- Prosecutors allege that on June 29 the family drove the 20-year-old suspect to the Bronx Criminal Courthouse, changed clothes, circled the block and then the son fired at a group before fleeing in a vehicle driven by his mother.
- Jennifer Lackard, who ran Mount Vernon’s wellness unit, was arrested, pleaded not guilty and was terminated from her post; her bail was set at $75,000 cash and she is due back in court in September.
- Her son, Chase Lackard, faces attempted murder, attempted assault, multiple weapons counts and conspiracy charges and was ordered held without bail by a Bronx judge.
- Prosecutors say their case rests on unsealed court records, surveillance video that captured parts of the incident and alleged text exchanges in which the son and mother discussed timing the pickup.
