- Krystal Meyers, 41, and her daughter Alexis Meyers Martinez, 21, were last seen Thursday near the High Creek switchbacks at about 10,300 feet after starting a hike on the Vivian Creek Trail.
- An urgent search is under way led by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and the San Gorgonio Search and Rescue Team with crews scouring the remote route and no confirmed sightings or recoveries reported.
- Officials released physical descriptions to help identify the pair: Krystal is about 5-foot-7, 150 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes, and Alexis is about 6 feet tall, 120 pounds, with black hair.
- The U.S. Forest Service describes Vivian Creek as the shortest and steepest route to Mount San Gorgonio’s summit and says it is recommended only for experienced mountaineers because of its rugged conditions.
