Overview
- InfernoPlus, the mod’s creator, showed a new video Thursday saying the project is now mostly playable.
- The build reproduces key Morrowind systems in Elden Ring, including NPC behavior, quests, a guard-driven crime system, alchemy, persuasion, weapon enchantment, and skill training.
- The demo tours hallmark locations and quests such as Seyda Neen and Balmora, with stops like Arrille’s shop, the Addamasartus slave rescue, Tarhiel’s fall, and joining the Fighter’s Guild, and it even runs some classic Morrowind mods like Balmora Burger.
- To make this work, the team replicated Morrowind’s NPC logic inside Elden Ring and uses procedurally generated code compiled into binaries that the engine loads on demand.
- Work still ahead includes building the world map, handling Elden Ring’s JSON audio references, creating navmeshes by probing the executable, compiling dialogue and scripts, balancing stats, placing enemies and bosses, making custom faces, adding lockpicking, and replacing text-to-speech with volunteer voice acting.
