Overview
- Morgan, which unveiled the Supersport 400 on Thursday, opened orders at £112,965 and says production starts in May.
- The 1,170 kg roadster uses a tuned BMW 3.0-liter B58 inline-six with 402 bhp and 500 Nm through a ZF eight-speed, claiming 0–62 mph in 3.6 seconds and 180 mph.
- To handle the extra power, the car makes the Dynamic Handling Pack standard with 24-click Nitron dampers, revised geometry, forged 19-inch wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tires.
- Owners can add a limited-slip differential and a new aluminum gear selector, while model-specific vents, gloss lower bodywork, Alcantara trims and an active exhaust mark it out.
- As a low-volume maker, Morgan can keep selling petrol sports cars under UK rules, and it pitches the 400 as a halo for a run of bespoke models over the next 18 months.
