Montpelier Idaho Temple Sets September Open House, Oct. 18 Dedication

The plan signals continued temple growth in Idaho.

Overview

  • The First Presidency announced Monday that the Montpelier Idaho Temple will be dedicated on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026, with the presiding authority to be named later.
  • A free public open house runs Sept. 10–26, excluding Sundays, with a media day on Sept. 8 and invited-guest tours on Sept. 9.
  • The dedicatory session will be broadcast to all church units in the temple district at 10 a.m., with a rebroadcast at 2 p.m.
  • Once dedicated, the temple will become Idaho’s eighth operating house of worship for Latter-day Saints, expanding access for members in the Bear Lake region.
  • The temple followed an April 2022 announcement and a June 17, 2023 groundbreaking, and it stands as a two-story, 27,000-square-foot building on a 2.6-acre site at Washington and Sixth in Montpelier.
