Overview
- Molinos Río de la Plata announced Tuesday that it reached an agreement to acquire Bodega Etchart from Pernod Ricard Argentina, including certain assets, brands and personnel.
- The companies notified the transaction to market regulators (CNV, BYMA and A3) and said the deal still depends on the usual authorizations and conditions before it closes.
- Etchart, founded in 1850 in Cafayate, owns more than 400 hectares of vineyards around 1,700 meters above sea level and is known for Torrontés and other high‑altitude varietals.
- The acquisition brings Etchart and Cafayate labels into Molinos’ Fincas & Bodegas portfolio, which already includes Nieto Senetiner, Cadus, Ruca Malen and its stake in Viña Cobos.
- Analysts and reports frame Pernod Ricard’s sale as part of its global asset reshuffle and see Molinos’ move, following its recent NotCo purchase, as a push to diversify geography and climb the value ladder in wine.
