MoEngage Acquires Aampe to Embed Per‑User AI Agents in Marketing

The deal folds Aampe’s agentic decisioning technology with its founders into MoEngage to help win enterprise customers from Salesforce and Adobe.

Overview

  • MoEngage completed an all-cash purchase of San Francisco startup Aampe in late June 2026 with financial terms not publicly disclosed and multiple outlets reporting the price at tens of millions of dollars.
  • Aampe built a system that assigns a dedicated autonomous AI agent to each customer to choose message content, timing, channel and frequency based on individual behavior rather than segment rules.
  • Aampe’s founders Paul Meinshausen, Schaun Wheeler and Sami Abboud will join MoEngage to lead its agentic decisioning work while roughly 20 Aampe employees move into MoEngage’s engineering ranks.
  • Existing Aampe customers such as Grab, Swiggy, Taxfix and Zen Business are expected to migrate onto MoEngage’s platform, which MoEngage says will help it win large clients switching from Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Adobe Experience Cloud.
  • The acquisition comes as MoEngage expands after recent fundraising and corporate moves and aims to scale agent-driven, 1:1 personalization across its global customer base ahead of public-market plans.
