Modi’s Dec. 20 Assam Visit to Open New Guwahati Airport Terminal, Kick Off Namrup Fertiliser Complex

The state has begun high-level preparations, with the chief minister directing officials to ensure smooth events.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled for a two-day visit to Assam starting December 20, according to the state government.
His itinerary includes inaugurating the new terminal at Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport and unveiling a statue of Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi at Borjhar.
The visit also features the laying of the foundation stone for a brownfield ammonia-urea complex at Namrup with an annual capacity of 12.7 lakh metric tonnes.
The new Guwahati terminal is designed to handle over 1.3 crore passengers annually, easing congestion and strengthening the city’s aviation role.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma chaired a review meeting with senior officials and industry leaders and said on X that the visit would herald a new wave of development.
