Overview
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to Pachpadra in Balotra on April 21 to dedicate a new greenfield refinery and integrated petrochemical complex.
- The HPCL–Government of Rajasthan venture, estimated at about ₹80,000 crore, is reported to handle 9 million tonnes of crude a year with 2 million tonnes of petrochemicals.
- Officials project around 50,000 direct and indirect jobs, with roles spanning plant operations, construction support, logistics, and local services.
- Project backers say the plant will produce BS‑VI grade fuels and is designed for zero liquid effluent discharge, which means no liquid waste leaves the site.
