Overview
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will digitally release the 22nd PM-KISAN instalment on March 13 from Guwahati, crediting 9.32 crore registered farmers via Direct Benefit Transfer.
- Under PM-KISAN, eligible farmer families receive Rs 6,000 a year in three Rs 2,000 tranches, with this instalment marking the first payout of 2026.
- Official data show more than 1.12 crore names have been removed after verification for ineligibility, and incomplete e-KYC or mismatched records can stop payments.
- The agriculture ministry has rolled out a Know Your Status module, a face-authentication mobile app for at-home e-KYC, 24x7 Kisan-eMitra support, and CSC assistance, with over 2.15 crore women set to receive this tranche.
- With this release, total disbursals under PM-KISAN will cross Rs 4.27 lakh crore, and farmers are urged to check their beneficiary and payment status on the PM-KISAN portal.
