Overview
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened Seva Teerth on February 13, relocating the PMO for the first time since Independence and co-locating the National Security Council Secretariat and the Cabinet Secretariat.
- Kartavya Bhavan-1 and 2 have begun hosting major ministries, including Finance, Defence, Health, Education, Corporate Affairs, Culture, Law and Justice, Information and Broadcasting, Agriculture, Chemicals and Fertilisers, and Tribal Affairs.
- The new complexes are built to 4-Star GRIHA standards with digitally integrated offices, structured public interface zones, renewable energy, water and waste systems, and upgraded security with smart access control and surveillance.
- From the new office, the Prime Minister cleared initial measures including the PM RAHAT scheme for cashless treatment up to ₹1.5 lakh, doubling the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund to ₹2 lakh crore, raising the Lakhpati Didi target to six crore, and a ₹10,000 crore Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0.
- The vacated South and North Blocks are slated to be converted into the Yuge Yugeen Bharat Sangrahalaya museum under a technical cooperation arrangement with France’s museum development agency.
