Overview
- Modi closed his Gujarat tour on Monday with a saffron-themed Vadodara roadshow that stretched about 1.5 km and featured 16 cultural stages.
- Earlier in the day, he took part in Somnath Temple’s Amrut Mahotsav rituals, including Vishesh Maha Puja, Kumbhabhishek and the hoisting of the temple flag.
- In Vadodara, he inaugurated Sardar Dham Bhavan-3, performed the foundation ritual for a girls’ hostel and launched the Sardar Dham Education Support Yojana worth Rs 500 crore for student aid.
- The Prime Minister said recent results in West Bengal, Assam and Puducherry had created nationwide enthusiasm and he linked political stability to faster growth, citing Gujarat’s record.
- The roadshow carried the “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” theme with multi-state performances such as Bihu, Bharatanatyam and Garba, and large crowds lined the route despite intense heat.
