Overview
- The Early Access beta opened on Friday, August 21, offering the first playable full campaign mission called “Entrenched” plus core 6v6 multiplayer modes and maps.
- Beta structure is two weekends: Early Access (Level 1–20) then an Open Beta (Level 1–30) from August 28 to September 1, with cosmetic rewards earned in the beta set to carry over to the retail game.
- Hands-on footage of the native Nintendo Switch 2 build, created with partner Digital Legends, shows the game mostly hitting 60 frames per second while making visible tradeoffs such as low docked resolution and artifacting.
- PC players reported performance drops and delayed mouse input during Early Access, and Beenox and Infinity Ward have said they are preparing imminent patches and refinements ahead of the Open Beta.
- Modern Warfare 4 remains scheduled to launch on October 23, 2026 across PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2, with Warzone Resurgence and Switch 2 support joining the public Open Beta weekend and DMZ held for the full release.
