Mocopinus to Shut Down Operations at Ulm, Karlsruhe and Ammelshain After Investor Search Fails

Production will run for several months to complete existing orders as talks continue over the Lignum‑Finish subsidiary.

Overview

  • Management said the self-administration insolvency process launched in December did not yield a buyer for the operating business, with interest focused only on real estate.
  • About 270 jobs will be cut across the three sites, including roughly 180 in Karlsruhe, 60 in Ammelshain near Leipzig and 30 at the Ulm headquarters.
  • Karlsruhe and Ammelshain will carry out an orderly run‑down, with customer orders to be manufactured and delivered before operations cease.
  • The works councils have been informed and will negotiate an interest‑equalisation arrangement and social plan for affected employees.
  • CEO Ulrich Braig and court-appointed custodian Georg Jakob Stemshorn of PLUTA expressed regret, saying efforts to keep the company operating were unsuccessful.
