Mitsubishi Revives ASX Name as ASX VR-e Electric Crossover for Australia

The move signals Mitsubishi will use a Foxtron‑built, badge‑engineered model to speed its return to Australia’s growing EV market.

Mitsubishi Motors Australia confirmed on Monday that the new battery‑electric model will be called the ASX VR‑e and is due in showrooms in the fourth quarter of 2026.
The ASX VR‑e is being supplied through Mitsubishi’s partnership with Foxtron Vehicle Technologies and Yulon and is based on the Pininfarina‑designed Foxtron Bria platform.
Mitsubishi published two preview images and said the ASX VR‑e will be offered in four trims — LS, Aspire, Exceed and GSR — with local testing and tuning performed by its global and regional teams.
Exact Australian specifications remain unannounced so local battery capacity, certified driving range, charging speeds, powertrain choices and pricing are still to be confirmed by Mitsubishi.
