Overview
- Deputies say they tried to stop a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu around 1:50 a.m. on Saturday, July 18 after spotting it near 75 mph in a 45-mph zone and were led on a pursuit that ended on the two-lane Kimberling City Bridge.
- Dashcam video released by the Stone County Sheriff’s Office shows 26-year-old Gavin Thor Lundgren leaving his moving car on the bridge and diving headfirst into Table Rock Lake while the sedan continued to roll.
- Southern Stone County Firefighters and deputies searched by boat and along the shore before a deputy located Lundgren on land and took him into custody.
- Officials say Lundgren allegedly headbutted deputies during the arrest, leaving officers with bruises, cuts and abrasions; he was booked into the Stone County Jail and is being held without bond.
- Local investigators have released the dashcam footage and a probable cause narrative that will be central to the pending charges, and the case remains under local investigation as it moves toward county court.
