- Minor Hotels, in a Wednesday announcement, confirmed agreements for Anantara Zanti Coorg Resort and Anantara Kolkata Hotel as the brand’s first resort and first city hotel in India.
- Anantara Zanti Coorg Resort is scheduled to open in 2028 near Madikeri in Karnataka’s Western Ghats with 69 keys designed by Sri Lankan architect Channa Daswatte and owned by Zanti Hospitality.
- Anantara Kolkata Hotel is slated for 2032 with about 170 keys as the hotel anchor of the World Trade Center Salt Lake Kolkata, a mixed-use project by Aryan Realty and Merlin Group.
- The India plan uses an asset-right model that leans on management deals and franchises across luxury and select-service brands, including Anantara, Avani, NH Collection, NH, Oaks and iStay, with conversion paths via the Minor Reserve and Colbert collections.
- These additions build on Anantara Jewel Bagh Jaipur’s 2025 debut and the Avani+ Sunray Beach Visakhapatnam signing, extending a pipeline aimed at both experiential leisure in destinations like Coorg and business demand in major cities such as Kolkata.
