Minneapolis Police Release Photo, Seek Silver Sedan in Student’s Fatal Hit-and-Run

Police seek tips across multiple suburbs to find a silver sedan with visible front-left damage.

  • MPD, which released a surveillance photo Wednesday, urged residents to share tips as no arrest has been made.
  • The crash happened just after 3 a.m. Sunday on the 1600 block of Marshall Street Northeast, with the driver leaving the scene.
  • Investigators are looking for a silver or gray four-door sedan with a sunroof and front-left damage, including a buckled hood, a downward-facing left headlight, and a missing driver-side mirror.
  • Police say the car has been seen in Minneapolis, Falcon Heights, Lauderdale and St. Anthony, and they are taking tips by email, phone or through Crime Stoppers for anonymous submissions.
  • The victim, University of St. Thomas senior Seham Hassen, later died at a hospital, and friends described her as caring and driven in a fundraiser shared after her funeral.
