Minecraft Tests Undead Desert Mounts and Sunproof Skeletons in Snapshot 25W44A

Java players can try the changes in Snapshot 25W44A now, with Bedrock previews promised soon.

Overview

  • Mojang introduced the Camel Husk, an undead camel variant that carries two passengers, spawns at low light, and does not burn in daylight.
  • Camel Husks commonly appear with hostile riders—typically a Husk and a Parched—and become rideable once the riders are defeated.
  • The Parched debuts as a desert skeleton that resists sunlight, avoids caves, can ride Camel Husks, and fires Arrows of Weakness.
  • A systemic mobility test lets all mounts swim across water at reduced speed compared with land travel.
  • The snapshot also tunes the Lunge enchantment to consume 1–3 hunger points and 1 durability per use, with the features planned for the Mounts of Mayhem update later this year.
