- Two longtime friends, 49-year-old Amy Austin and 48-year-old May Daiber, were struck and killed by a speeding vehicle while crossing Teutonia Avenue near Vienna Avenue just after 11 p.m. on Sunday night.
- The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner confirmed the victims’ identities and investigators say the crash involved a speeding vehicle that fled the scene.
- Milwaukee police now describe the suspect vehicle as a black 2007–2014 GMC Yukon with possible damage to the front grille, bumper and passenger-side headlight and a missing GMC emblem.
- Witnesses at nearby Shananigans said the women were holding hands when the black, suburban-style SUV hit them and did not brake before leaving the scene.
