Mild Pattern Persists as Winds Strengthen Along Montana’s Rocky Mountain Front
Forecasters say wind will be the primary hazard, peaking Friday night into Saturday morning.

- Scattered rain, graupel, and snow continue this evening mainly in the mountains and along the eastern Hi-Line, with little accumulation for most areas and up to about 2 inches in higher terrain and parts of northeastern Montana.
- Gusts up to 50 mph are possible along the Rocky Mountain Front tonight and again Thursday, with breezy conditions east of the Front where gusts may top 30 to 35 mph.
- A follow-up disturbance Friday into Saturday is expected to bring additional light showers focused on the mountains and some central and eastern areas, followed by clearing Saturday.
- The strongest winds are forecast during Friday evening into Saturday morning, when gusts could reach 60 mph along the Rocky Mountain Front and exceed 40 mph in some areas to the east.
- Temperatures stay mild for most locations with highs in the 40s and 50s, cooler in northeastern Montana, before a quieter, mainly dry stretch Sunday into midweek following a weak system Monday.
