Middlesbrough Man Charged After Tractor Driven Into House

Police say they are treating the crash as deliberate and the case has been sent to Teesside Crown Court for a hearing on August 5.

Overview

  • A tractor was driven into a house on Priory Road in Middlesbrough in the early hours of May 9, leaving the vehicle lodged in the front of the property and scattering bricks across the street.
  • Emergency services attended at about 1:40am, neighbours were evacuated as a precaution, the North East Ambulance Service was stood down, and the house was empty so there were no injuries.
  • Cleveland Police charged 28-year-old Nathan Blagg of Addington Drive with criminal damage with intent to endanger life and aggravated vehicle taking, and he appeared at Teesside Magistrates' Court on July 8.
  • The magistrates sent the case to Teesside Crown Court and Blagg is due to appear on August 5; court reporting says he was remanded in custody pending that hearing.
  • Investigators have preserved scene evidence, used photographs showing significant structural damage, and increased local patrols to reassure residents while the inquiry continues.
