Middlesbrough Driver Who Chased Ex Gets Suspended Term and 30-Month Ban

A judge said she narrowly avoided jail after a 20-minute pursuit.

Overview

  • Teesside Crown Court imposed a 13-month prison sentence suspended for two years with 200 hours of unpaid work, 25 rehabilitation days and a 30-month driving disqualification.
  • The case stems from February 11th when she followed her ex-partner’s van in Middlesbrough for 20 minutes in what the judge called a sustained, aggressive pursuit.
  • She blocked the van in a dead end and shouted that she was going to kill him.
  • As a female passenger stepped out, she drove forward and struck the van door, then chased the woman to a house and kicked and banged on the door.
  • She pleaded guilty on March 18th to dangerous driving, affray and failing to stop or report, and the court heard she had no prior record, lost her carer job and now claims universal credit.
