Overview
- Starting May 31, 2026, SwiftKey will drop Google and Apple sign-ins, making a Microsoft account the only supported login for syncing.
- Typing data such as learned words and predictions will be stored in OneDrive linked to the Microsoft account used for SwiftKey.
- All existing SwiftKey account data will be permanently deleted on May 31, 2026 unless users download it beforehand at data.swiftkey.com.
- Those already using or switching to a Microsoft account before the cutoff do not need to take additional steps, as backups will occur automatically.
- Microsoft is offering 1,000 Microsoft Rewards points to encourage the change, and the keyboard can still be used without signing in though data will not sync across devices.
