Microsoft Launches Copilot Health to Organize Medical Records and Wearable Data

Microsoft is pitching the tool as a privacy‑protected, clinically reviewed companion that is not a diagnostic service.

Overview

  • The assistant lives inside Copilot and consolidates records, lab results, medications and data from over 50 devices, including Apple Health, Fitbit and Oura.
  • Through HealthEx, it can connect to health records from more than 50,000 U.S. hospitals and provider organizations, with optional lab integrations via Function.
  • Answers are source‑cited and include expert materials such as Harvard Health cards, and a U.S. directory helps users find clinicians by location, specialty, languages and insurance.
  • Microsoft says health chats are isolated and encrypted, data is not used to train models, users can delete or disconnect at any time, identity checks use Clear ID, and the service has ISO/IEC 42001 certification verified by an independent third party.
  • A phased U.S. rollout is underway for adults 18+ with a waitlist, it is initially free, and The New York Times reports Microsoft plans to introduce a subscription.
